1. Create a budget and stick to it!
It’s easy to get out of control when planning a wedding. Therefore, create a budget before you start and stick to it to avoid financial stress.
2. Figure out what’s most important
Sit down with your fiancé, parents and future in-laws to establish what is most important to each of you. Knowing this from the beginning will avoid arguments and stressful decision-making later on during the planning.
Everyoneis going to have one about just about everything! Be sensitive to others’ opinions, but don’t be a pushover if it’s important to you.
4. Book as many services as you can with a single vendor
This means less stress and less time spent chasing multiple vendors and getting them to co-ordinate.
5. Don’t just tell your vendors what you like
Show them what you want to avoid the stress caused by assumption or miscommunication.
Ask your mother, maid of honour and bridesmaids to help with pre-wedding tasks that have you stressed-out.
7. Spend time “plan free”
Set time aside each day that is meant purely for you, so you can think of other things besides the wedding. Let your other “planners” know so they can respect it.
8. Make time for date nights
It’s so easy to get caught up in planning the wedding, that you forget to spend time with each other. Make it a priority to spend quality time with your fiancé.
9. Talk to your partner
Overwhelmed, stressed or anxious? Share your feelings to reduce the chances that you will have a blow up for no reason, causing you both unnecessary stress
10. Get someone you trust to listen to the speeches beforehand
Knowing that the speeches are not inappropriate/boring/long will give you one less thing to worry about.
